Why We Created Bidmii

If you've ever struggled to find a contractor you can trust, you're not alone. The technology out there helping homeowners find and screen candidates is no more sophisticated than the yellow pages. This system is broken, and it leaves homeowners like you and me, vulnerable to stolen deposits and at risk of a damaged home.

The reason Phillip and I started Bidmii is simple, we were fed up with the residential renovation system. My background is actually in the franchised restaurant development space, and my team got really good at building restaurants on time and on budget. Some restaurants, we were able to whip together in less than six weeks, and we got to build 100s of restaurants around the world. Despite all of this, still, I struggled to find an electrician to help me finish my basement at home.

When the pandemic struck and new restaurant financing pretty much vanished, I had to find another way to spend my time. I had a friend (who was a cloud architect before it was cool) approach me and ask if we could collaborate on something. That friend and I became the co-founders of Bidmii. We pulled inspiration from several of the automation tactics that I'd applied in the past and combined it with his computer wizardry, and focused on empowering homeowners through payment protection.

And that’s when Bidmii was born. Bidmii is a contractor marketplace for residential renovations that holds a homeowner’s money in trust while projects are being completed. Homeowners release the payment once THEY’RE satisfied with the work. Yep, you heard that right, no more waiting for a final inspection or hoping your contractor doesn't disappear with your deposit.

Most of the contractor marketplaces out there are solely focused on helping contractors get more work - period. But, our belief is that if we put the needs of the homeowner first, everything else will fall into place. We are committed and dedicated to making sure that homeowners have a positive experience and find the right contractors at a fair price.
