It’s that time of year where we look around our house searching for our next project; the weather isn’t great, it’s a new year, and altogether we’re just bored. But, sometimes, it’s can be hard to find a project that’s both easy and inexpensive. One project that’s (relatively) easy to do is a painting project. And what better way to find inspiration than to take a look at Benjamin Moore’s 2023 Paint Colour Catalogue?
Each year, well-known paint company, Benjamin Moore, releases a palette of colours that are sure to dominate. Two years ago, it was all about subdued blues, last year we got a creamy green colour. I like to think that this year’s paint trends will transport people back a couple years and bring out their inner child, because 2023’s top paint colour is called Raspberry Blush, and yup, you guessed it, it’s pink.
Alongside Raspberry Blush, Benjamin Moore has added some colours that complement it nicely. Tofino Sunset is a pale, creamy pink; Cinnamon is exactly as it sounds - a cinnamon-coloured swatch; but there’s also a chartreuse colour called Savannah Green, and a beautiful royal blue called Starry Night Blue.
But with such a large and diverse palette, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. You’re probably thinking “Okay, cool, I love Raspberry Blush and how they’ve featured it in their catalogue - but how would this work in my home?”
Well, here’s a list of how we would and wouldn’t use Raspberry Blush.
We know that this colour is quite bold, and not one that will be loved by everyone, but that’s okay. This colour really is for those of you ready to make a statement. We recommend keeping decor simple - think cream or even white cushions and rugs, and pair it with dark walnut furniture like a coffee table.
This colour looks excellent over wainscoting and thrives in quirky little spaces. For more modern, newer builds, this colour is harder to pull off (but, not impossible). But putting Raspberry Blush in smaller spaces like a hallway or entryway is perfect. It’s warmth is inviting and these spaces require minimal additional decor items, keeping it a relatively inexpensive project.
Because who wants a boring powder room? This one speaks for itself - with a new mirror and some wall sconce lighting, you’ll have all your visitors raving about it.

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again - this is a bold colour. It’s believed that bright and bold colours can disturb our ability to relax. Something as punchy as Raspberry Blush should be used in spaces meant for entertaining!
We spend a LOT of time cooking in our kitchen and kitchen renovations can be expensive. Committing to a full raspberry blush tile, or painting the cabinets this colour is a big move; you could find yourself getting sick of the colour in a few years. Save this colour for the walls - paint isn’t forever.
