Let's dive into the world of Peach Fuzz and figure out how this warm and friendly shade can jazz up your next home project.
So, it's officially that time of the year again, the biggest names in design are starting to role out their forecasted trends for the upcoming year, and Pantone has just dropped the colour bomb we've all been waiting for. For those of you who have been patiently awaiting which colour will dominate in 2024, look no further than the cozy and bright Peach Fuzz. This is a gentle peach share that will most definitely make your living space a whole lot cozier. Let's dive into the world of Peach Fuzz and figure out how this warm and friendly shade can jazz up your next home project.
Okay well for starters,Peach Fuzz isn’t just a colour; according to the Pantone gurus, it's got a sensual subtly to it, it’s heartfelt, and it is the colour version of a great big hug. Pantone says that this colour does a good job of embodying a sense of community and collaboration, which is something we could all use as we walk into 2024.
Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Color Institute’s head honcho, spilled the beans on the careful selection process: "We wanted a colour that screams closeness and connection, so we went for a shade that's all about warmth and modern elegance. A colour that's like a compassionate bear hug, bridging the gap between the young and the timeless."
Like Leatrice Eiseman says, Peach Fuzz is more than just a trendy paint colour, it’s truly a symbol of empathy and compassion. Laurie Pressman is one of Pantone’s colour selectors, and she absolutely nailed it when she said that this year’s colour had to capture the essence of coming together. 2023 saw its fair share of chaos, and honestly, we're all in need of some empathy and compassion. Peach Fuzz is a small way that peace and harmony can be carried throughout the spaces we so regularly frequent.
Alright, so I think it’s safe to say that we’re all now totally pumped about Peach Fuzz, but, how do we begin to integrate it into our spaces without going overboard… and winding up like we’re in a modern-day James And The Giant Peach remake?
Living rooms or bedrooms come to mind when I think about the places I like to get all bundled up, and I can’t think of a better colour to accompany that feeling than Peach Fuzz. Some people fear warmer colours in their spaces, but Peach Fuzz is a subtle peach, and it will reflect natural light perfectly, practically begging you to kick back and relax.
Sometimes, it’s not a matter of completely revamping our living spaces, but rather, accentuating them with the latest style trends. If you don’t feel ready to splash Peach Fuzz all over the walls of your home, no problem. You can find this colour in throw pillows, blankets, and even artwork. This is a great excuse to integrate a bit of colour into your space if you feel it’s missing some.
We recently teamed up with the ladies at Hone, an excellent resource for anyone who is looking to add an accent wall to their space. Here's a recent blog post we wrote about accent walls: bidmii.com/blog-posts/whats-missing-an-accent-wall
Peach Fuzz is unique in that it plays nicely with both modern and classic design styles. A lot of homeowners run into the issue where they renovate slowly over time, so their kitchen may be a brand-new oasis, but their living and dining areas are still a bit dated. If you find some ways to bring Peach Fuzz into both parts of the home, it makes the flow between areas a lot more seamless. Who knows… maybe Le Creuset will release a Peach-coloured line this year…
It’s 2023 (almost 2024)... surely some of you still work from home. If you’ve got a home office or a creative space, let Peach Fuzz be your muse. Seriously - paint an accent wall Peach Fuzz, or have a little DIY fun and repaint your desk peach, find a little area rug with peach in it, get creative! Again, Peach Fuzz is a colour that is meant to inspire an uplifting feel, and I think it’s safe to say we could use more of that when we’re working…
What you really need to know is that by adding Peach Fuzz to your home, you’re welcoming all your visitors, and even yourself, with a great big hug. In my opinion, I feel like this isn’t just going to be a year-long trend, I think Peach Fuzz is a colour that will stick. There’s an increasing desire to have spaces that bring people together, and Peach Fuzz is an easy way to facilitate this. So, let Pantone's 2024 Color of the Year be the inspiration you need to rethink your home as the space you feel proud to host in.
